Christmas in the home

May be a little tree but holds many big memories. :)

Connor's first ornament.  My friend, Stephanie, has given him an ornament every Christmas so he is establishing quite the collection now.

Brayden's first Christmas ornament.

The ornament we bought last year that was never put up and I thought was thrown away a few weeks ago, but now sits safely among the others

Connor's bedroom tree.  Thanks to mom handing down some of her ornaments, he now has a tree full.

Halloween 2010

This year Connor was "Billy the Exterminator" and Brayden was a skunk (hand-me-down from his big brother).  The skunk actually went well with Connor's costume.  "Billy the Exterminator" is a reality show on A&E that follows an exterminator and his family in Louisiana.  But they are very unique, dressing in all black and spikes and Billy has quite the mullet.  Connor loves to watch the show and see all the vermin.  A few people recognized his costume, but most thought he was a punk rocker.  Brayden didn't participate much in the trick or treating, he was pushed around in the stroller and everyone who passed thought he was adorable.

Dinosaur Birthday

Connor had a great birthday and we loved his special day.  He went to school as he usually does on Thursdays.  His class sang him Happy Birthday 3 times, once in Spanish, he said it made him happy.  We had lunch as any other day, followed by an afternoon nap. Daddy came home early from work and since he waited patiently all day, we let him open his gifts.  He requested to go to McDonald's for dinner, where he also played on the playground.  At home, after dinner, we had cake, a bath, and he was allowed to stay up until 9 to play with his toys.  In the eyes of a four year old, it was perfect day.

Four Years

Four years of being a parent.  Four years of watching Connor grow from a tiny baby into a child.  I'm crying just writing this.  I cannot believe where the time has gone.  My heart is filled with so many firsts, worries, and fond memories.  I don't even know where to begin...this child has changed me. This child has shown me the meaning of life.  This child has taught me what it is to receive and to return unconditional love.  This child made me a mother.  This child has brought many tears, both good and bad.  This child gives me hope.  This child shows me innocence.  This child is my absolute everything (as well as that other child).  I love him so much, words will never express what this child is to me.  There is something special about your first born and Connor is indeed special.  He was the perfect baby, threw us obstacles during the toddler years, and is turning into quite the bright, well rounded young boy.

Annual Pumpkin Picking

I had never been to a pumpkin patch until Connor was almost 1 year old.  Now it's our fall family tradition.  This year was our first in Tennessee and we went to River View Mounds Farm.  What a beautiful place!  Jeremy and I have been dreaming lately of one day owning a farm, maybe not the traditional farm, but a big piece of land with a house and a barn out in the country.  Growing up I would have never, ever said such a thing...I wanted to be a city girl and country people were bumpkins!  Oh what little I knew then.

There was so much to do.  They had a tunnel slide (we all went down and it was a blast), pig races, a hay stack to climb, swings, hammocks, petting zoo, tractor hay ride, barrel rides, corn crib, playhouse made out of hay, games (horseshoes, checkers, cornhole), and of course, lots of pumpkins!
