The Start of Fun in the Sun

Yesterday was the first day of summer in Clarksville.  Summer break!  And it was a hot day to top it off.  I pulled out the boys' rinky dink pool and C ran around the neighborhood inviting his friends over for a dip.  They had a blast!!

Colorado Cousins

This past weekend was spent in Corbin, KY.  Mr A's cousin and family came to visit from Colorado.  The last time we saw them was Christmas time 2010.  Since then they have added in a new addition to their family and are expecting another this fall.  Talk about busy folks. :)   Hayvin's birthday was last month so the whole family threw her a belated bday party.  The theme...Spiderman!  She and C were inseparable the whole weekend.

Interview with C

I always see these pictures with facts about the child on Pinterest.  I think they are so cute and a great way to capture their interests at that time and age.  Instead of being the procrastinator I can sometimes be, I thought I'd make one of C for the end of his preschool era.  He will still be going for another month, but it won't be the same.  One of his best buddies there had his last day today and his other one will be leaving on Tuesday.  In addition to saying goodbye to his playmates, his two teachers have left their jobs due to certain circumstances.  We had to say goodbye today, it was a little sad.  Closing the doors to one chapter and looking ahead to many more that will open for him!

IL Visit

The boys and I went on our second trip this year up to Illinois.  I've found the key to their happiness is to keep the visit about 7 days or less, after that they start to get cranky and obnoxiously full of energy.  And it gives us just enough time to see family and close friends.

This trip we spent two days with my grandparents (the boys' great grands), an evening with my two besties & munchkins, 2 sleepovers for Connor at his Neena's (my mom), 2 1/2 days with my mom, and evenings & 1/2 day with my aunt and uncle.  Time with these people is priceless.  What's most important is when the time comes where we have to move away, I'll know the boys have many great memories with family to go with us.

End of Another Decade

Last week I turned 29.  There's no way I'm that age!  Didn't I just become legal age like last year?!  In my mind, maybe.  Well, unfortunately this is the last year in my 20s.  But 30 is like the new 20, right?

We celebrated as a family, like we do with all of our birthdays.  I received some cards in the mail that made me laugh and made me cry, Mr A brought home a pretty cake, C drew me a picture at preschool, and B gave me an abundance of weed flowers during our playtime outdoors.  It was a good day.
