Bottoms up!

Where ever Connor goes, so does his little brother.  When Connor does his pre-soak playing in the bathtub, Brayden always leans over the side to splash along in the water (we're usually getting pjs out and beds ready).  The other night Jeremy had de-clothed Bray and when we came in to put him into the tub this is what we found:

We're use to seeing him like this fully dressed, so it was quite a sight to see his bare bum.  We got a great laugh out of that bath-time.

Somebody is growing up

This week's theme must be "milestone week" for Brayden.  In the past 2 days he has started to clap and raise his hands in response to "How big is Brayden?" (a game we played with Connor. Video is below)  I have to say again that I thoroughly enjoy this stage and the ones to follow.  Just as long as he puts off his walking for a while...I'm not ready for that.  Oh and he's discovered the toilet, never had this issue with Connor (maybe because it's easier to keep track of 1 rather than 2), he likes to lift up the seat and splish, splash in the yucky water.  Completely grosses me out.

Bor-ing

Our weekend consisted of lots of homework and studying, therefore it was uneventful and boring.  I even almost forgot Mom's birthday on Saturday, can you believe it?! Bad.

Did manage a visit to Steak N Shake for Saturday dinner.  Went in Daddy's truck and Connor found something cool...

I love the 9 months+ age.  It was my favorite with Connor and the same with Brayden.  They begin to understand things and their personality really begins to blossom.  I've been working with Bray on "what does a fishy say?"  I think Connor was close to 10 months when we started that.  Here's a video for your viewing pleasure...

Big Boy Eaters

Brayden turned 9 months yesterday.  I can't believe he will be a year old in 3 months!!  He had his 9 month well baby check up and his height is 29.5" long ( about 85 %ile) & his weight is 19 lbs, 11 oz (35 %ile).  He's right on track for everything. 

He's been eating more and more table food.  He prefers it to baby food.  He gets very demanding, which isn't a new behavior, when you eat in front of him and makes noises insisting you feed him too and won't stop until you do. Today for lunch he had a full table food meal, the same things his brother had.

And Connor is starting to drink his lemonade out of a cup instead of the sippy.  I hope to ditch the sippy cups by his 4th birthday.

Summer ideas

Wow, it's almost mid June already!  I have been super swamped with the ending of my child development course.  I will officially be completed with it on Monday.

I'm so ready to have a life again.  There are lots of things I need and want to do.  One of which is an order for baby bibs to make by the end of this month.  It's going to require a trip to Cool Springs, TN so that I can hit up some new and interesting fabrics at Jo Ann's.  Our Hobby Lobby doesn't have a lot to chose from and our Hancock Fabrics is a very disappointing store (they have fabrics that are more appealing to the older generation...no offense).  In addition to those bibs, I want to make some things for 2 friends that have recently had babies.  I'm also going to try figure out how to make myself some headbands.

Oh and I wish my living room was bigger to accommodate this couch and loveseat set that I fell in love with at the PX...I guess we would need to have money for something like this too, haha.

My living room drives me crazy.  There is no real style to it.  Between kids toys in the corner, open space on the walls, weird layout of the room, etc it's my least favorite room but the one we spend the most time in.  Maybe I can place some unity in there by starting off with this picture over our sectional...I love it but it's never in stock and I can't get myself to spend the money.  One day, one day it will happen.

The continuation

After the antique mall, we headed to a fancy place for lunch, McDonald's.  Then off to Fort Campbell.  I showed mom the hospital Jeremy works at (from the outside because I haven't even been in there yet), the housing we so graciously passed up living in, motorpools (consisting of mostly humvees; no "cool tanks like Ft Stewart"), and other miscellaneous army installation things.  We made a stop at the museum and then some shopping at the PX.  Here are photos from the museum:

Sunday was spent mother/daughter bonding by doing some shop-ping!  Connor was in tow while Bray stayed home with Daddy.  Mom left mid morning Monday and almost beat my record driving time to IL of 5 1/2 hours.  We will be looking forward to her next visit!

The not-so-market market

My mom (aka Neena!) drove down to TN Friday to share the weekend with us.  We love having her around! 
She watched the boys for us that evening while Jeremy and I went out to dinner (alone!).  Saturday was a busy, busy day.  As it usually is when Neena's in town...so much to do, so much to see!  We started the day with a trip to downtown Clarksville to check out their Saturday market.  We were expecting to see a wide variety of local produce...only it was more like a craft fair than a market.  There were maybe 4 tents of produce while the rest were pottery, jewelry, woodworking crafts, etc.  Not that I'm complaining because there were some neat things...just a little mislead that's all.

After tent browsing, we walked around the little downtown area.  Even went into a few local shops; as you will see in one of the pictures, I love how great gift shops are set up.

The day didn't end there.  Following the trip downtown, we had to (of course) go to the Appleton Harley Davidson store for Mom.  And ended up on a bad side of town (we always seem to do that with Neena) to investigate a "12,000 sq ft" (don't think it was nearly that big) antique mall (aka overpriced junk).
