Family Vacay 2010!

A summer family vacation...wow, we haven't done one of these in, well since before Connor was born!  Jeremy always takes time off in July after his favorite holiday, Independence Day.  The past 3 years we spent the summer block leave in HI, which I guess it's a vacation in itself even if we lived there.  I'm really excited for our adventures that lie ahead.  So far these are our plans:

July 3rd & 4th: Fireworks!

July 5-8 or 9:
Trip to Corbin, KY to visit Nannie & Pappaw.

July 8 or 9-12:
Sevierville, TN to visit Aunt Joan & Uncle John
We also purchased (or were suckered into) a resort in Pigeon Forge, TN through the Bass Pro Shops.  They made it sound so much better than it really is...a "resort" is actually a motel.  But then again, it is the Bass Pro Shop... it's more for the outdoorsy type & men so figures they would expect a motel to feel like a "resort."  We will also have to go to a short seminar about their timeshares (surprise! that was the catch).  I'm gonna have to write "NO" all over Jeremy's palms so we don't get suckered into that too.  We won't, don't worry.
Additional plans for this trip is Dollywood!! and Ripley's Aquarium.  Those are my 2 "have to dos."  I could care less what else we do just as long as these are accomplished.  I don't know if I feel this way more for Connor or for myself, ha.

July 12, 13:
Back home.  We'll need to mow the lawn (or I should say massive field of grass), wash laundry, and go to an appointment.

July 14-21:
Springfield, IL.
I had originally thought of a trip to St Louis for 2 days, with an overnight stay so that we could go to the Zoo and DinoQuest at the Botanical Gardens, but after Dinosaur World I think I can cross off DinoQuest...I don't know if Jeremy and I are ready for more dinos.  We might still try to do it, just all in one day.
Jeremy has never been to IL in the summer.  The closest was in late August or early September and it was getting chilly.  So I want to go to Washington Park, maybe have a picnic; downtown, I'd like to do New Salem or Lincoln's Home but we'll see, the Lake to fish (although I hear there is Lepto again), Lincoln Memorial Gardens, and visit with the fams (of course!).

Whenever I make plans, they never seem to get done so all of this is tentative of course.  I'm just going to go with the flow and enjoy every minute with my 3 boys (and take lots of pictures!).  :)
