Introducing....
Ft Campbell's Blanchfield Army Community Hospital's Non Commissioned Officer of the Month is:
SGT Jeremy L. Armstsrong
My husband!!! Connor and Brayden's Daddy!!! Woo Hoo!! We are so proud!!!
What is an NCO? It is an enlisted military member holding a position of some degree of authority who has obtained it by promotion from within the non-officer ranks. The non-commissioned officer corps is often referred to as "the backbone" of the armed services as the primary and most visible leaders for most military personnel. Additionally, they are the primary military leaders responsible for executing the military organization's mission and for training military personnel so they are prepared to execute their missions. NCO training and education typically includes leadership and management as well as service specific and combat training. (online source)
Jeremy had to go to the NCO of the month board. It is a panel consisting of Senior NCOs who administer questions to test the skill, confidence, and knowledge of Army Soldiers. Let me say that nobody likes being put on the spot and judged, especially Jeremy. Just the thought of going gave him jitters. He hates going to the board, whether it be for this or promotions. I, on the other hand, could never understand this because I know how great of a soldier he is and how much pride he has serving in the Army; I have always had the utmost confidence he would do well. (But then again, it wasn't me on the spot.) I am so proud of him, he has conquered a fear (so to speak), and he shined just like I knew he would. He is an outstanding NCO, always there for his soldiers and following Army standards, doing above and beyond what he has always been asked to do, and I am just so grateful that he is recognized for his professionalism and hard work.
He got to have a DA photo done (it will hang in the hospital):
