My favorite spot in Springfield...

...would have to be Washington Park.  Almost every trip to Springfield requires a visit to Washington Park at least once.  I don't know what it is about that place, but I love it.  It brings back a lot of good memories from growing up and I love to see my boys enjoying it too; I hope they have their own good memories there.

I also took some pictures of my best friend Nicky and her children, Reagan (2 years old) and Reid (1 year old).  Nicky and I became best friends our freshman year of high school.  Our friendship had been off and on through the years; not intentionally, just due to circumstances.  It wasn't until we were both pregnant with the boys did we get close again.  We were due within days of one another.  Reid is 2.5 weeks older than Brayden.  That's when the friendship grew deeper.  Those boys are blessings in many ways.  Reid shared the same milk allergy and heartburn as Bray (although R's was a little worse).  Nicky has been my support group for the past year.  There are times I don't think I would have gotten through as a mother if it weren't for her.  I probably would have committed myself in for craziness, but thanks to her I learned that what I was going through and feeling was normal.  She has made me laugh, listen to me vent, examined poo pictures (while Bray was switching formulas), shared the sleepless nights & toddler tantrums, compared Target deals, and so much more.  I am grateful for her and her friendship.  I'm glad to have known her for the past 13 years; I'm amazed when I look back to those early years and see how she has evolved as a person and a mother.  I look forward to our many more years of friendship and watching our children grow together.

These are a few of my favorites that I took of her and the kids:

  1. I was tearing up until you mentioned the poo pictures. You know you're a mom when you're texting and emailing close up shots of infant dung back and forth.... :)

I'm so glad we've gotten close again too, I don't know what I'd do without you. Luv ya, Amy!
