Brayden Lucas is 6 months old. I cannot believe it. I remember those first 2 weeks of his life I couldn't wait until he was this age and now the time is here. It has been quite the journey thus far. He is very different from Connor and not just physically but almost in every possible way. With Connor, I couldn't wait for each milestone and to fast forward his life, with Bray, I've taken things slowly. He's such a fragile being to me. When he was in my belly we had to take extra precautions due to his 2 vessel umbilical cord and during his first month of life he struggled with colitis due to a milk and soy intolerance, in addition to his acid reflux. And now we are having slight concern with slow weight gain, which will need to be monitored in a month instead of waiting til his 9 month well baby visit. Despite these minor setbacks, he continues to strive and achieve to be a happy baby. He does have his moments and when he does, he makes sure you know he's not happy but we work through it.
His current baby goal is crawling. He is bound and determined to get up and go. I know it's gonna happen any day now. In the meantime this is extent of it:
He sees an object he would like to gnaw on
He gets on all fours but hasn't conquered what to do next
He gets upset because he has managed to go nowhere and that object he wants to eat is still across the room
Brayden has taught me a lot in these past 6 months...every child is different, you can not love a child more than the other and that love is endless and infinite; patience, sympathy, to take each day as it comes and enjoy it for all it's worth; and as much as I try, I'm not Super Mom nor will I ever be but that's okay.
They do grow up, way too fast for our liking. You have handled 2 so well and you are such a good mama. It's so cute that he gets frustrated trying to crawl, just proves how smart babies are. I'm so ready to have my second and I'm sure I'll be asking tips from you with having two.
